Welcome to Canada Notary. By accessing or using our website, mobile services, or in-person locations, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms apply to all users of the site, including browsers, clients, and service users. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
This agreement outlines the legally binding terms and conditions that govern your use of Canada
Notary’s services—whether accessed online, in person, via mobile notaries, or by phone. By using our
services or this website, you accept these terms in full. If you do not accept any part of these
Terms, you must not use our services.
We reserve the right to update, amend, or replace any part of these Terms at any time without prior
notice. Your continued use of our services or website following any changes constitutes acceptance
of those modifications.
choice law is a privately operated notarial services provider delivering legally recognized document notarization, commissioning, and certification services across Canada. Our services include but are not limited to:
In-person and virtual notarizations
Certified true copies of documents
Statutory declarations and affidavits
Consent letters for children traveling abroad
Notarized invitations and travel letters
Authentication and legalization guidance
Mobile notary appointments
We operate in compliance with applicable provincial and federal regulations governing notarial practices.
Canada Notary is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or interpretation of law. Our services are limited to witnessing, certifying, and verifying documents as permitted by law. Notaries and commissioners working under Canada Notary are not acting as lawyers, and you should seek independent legal counsel for advice, interpretation, or preparation of complex legal documents.
To receive notarial services, clients must meet the following criteria:
Be 18 years of age or older or legally authorized to sign
Provide valid government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, passport, PR card, etc.)
Have the legal capacity and authority to sign the document in question
Expired, altered, or incomplete IDs will not be accepted. We may refuse service if identification is missing or cannot be verified.
1. In-Person Notarization Available by appointment at one of our offices. Clients are required to
bring all necessary documentation and identification to the appointment.
2. Virtual Notarization Available to clients located in participating jurisdictions. Clients must:
Pass identity verification steps
Consent to video recording (mandatory by law)
Use a secure device with video/audio capability
Virtual notary services may not be available for all document types or in every province.
3. Mobile Notary Services Available in select cities for individuals who cannot visit our office.
Extra travel fees may apply depending on location, urgency, and complexity.
Appointments can be made online, by phone, or in person. We strive to provide transparent pricing and a seamless booking experience. By booking, you agree:
To pay all applicable fees in full prior to your appointment
That no notary service is guaranteed until payment is confirmed
That travel fees or urgent service fees may apply for mobile or after-hours service
We accept major credit cards and other forms of secure online payment.
We understand that unexpected events occur. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
Cancellations at least 2 hours before appointment: Fully refundable or reschedulable.
Cancellations under 2 hours: Partial refund or credit may be offered at our discretion.
No-shows: Non-refundable.
Mobile appointments canceled after dispatch: Subject to full or partial fees.
Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days. Completed services are non-refundable.

Reading and understanding your documents prior to signing
We do not review, interpret, or validate the legal accuracy of your documents.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. By using our services, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your information for the purpose of:
Booking and delivering services
Identity verification
Compliance with provincial notarial recordkeeping laws
All data is handled securely and in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your data with third parties unless legally required.
Errors, delays, or disruptions in service due to user error, missing information, or technology
failure
Losses incurred from using documents that we notarize or commission without independent legal review
Fraudulent or misrepresented documents submitted by clients
Government or third-party rejections of documents
Our total liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid by the client for the specific service.
We reserve the right to refuse service if:
The identity of the client cannot be verified
The document appears fraudulent, incomplete, or questionable
The client is abusive, impaired, or otherwise unfit to engage
The service requested falls outside of legal notarial functions
We also reserve the right to terminate an appointment at any time if safety, legal, or ethical concerns arise.
While we strive to maintain 99.9% uptime and accessibility, Canada Notary cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for interruptions due to:
Maintenance or server outages
Third-party platform disruptions (e.g., Zoom, Stripe)
Internet connectivity issues on the user’s end
All content on the Canada Notary website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, branding, images, and software, is the exclusive property of Canada Notary and protected under Canadian intellectual property laws. Users may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute content without prior written consent.
You may voluntarily submit a testimonial or review after using our services. By doing so, you grant Canada Notary the right to publish, reproduce, and display your review for marketing purposes. We reserve the right to moderate or decline to publish inappropriate reviews.
Our website may include links to third-party websites. These are provided for convenience only. We do not control or endorse the content of those websites and are not responsible for any damages or consequences arising from their use.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any legal dispute or claim must be brought before the courts in the Province of Ontario.
By agreeing to these Terms, you waive any right to participate in class actions and agree to resolve disputes individually.
If any part of these Terms is deemed unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms constitute the full agreement between you and Canada Notary regarding the use of our services and supersede any prior agreements, communications, or understandings.
